Metro Atlanta Police, Firefighters Honored at 21st Annual Awards Banquet

Metro Atlanta Police, Firefighters Honored at 21st Annual Awards Banquet

The 21st Annual Awards Dinner was held at The Piedmont Driving Club on October 18, 2012.  We had over 200 members, honorees, department representatives, and guests in attendance.  Our board member Stephen Boyd gave the invocation and Chairman Bill Lellyett followed with The State of the Club.

The awards were presented by Stephen Boyd and another member of our board, Margaret Stickney.

Eight individual awards were given out as well as two group awards to members of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Southeast Regional Task Force and the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department, bringing the total to eighteen well-deserved honors.  As always, the evening was moving and truly inspiring. Each situation was different, but all displayed the common thread of heroism.

Dispersed among the crowd were many senior officials from each of the major police and fire departments we service. We thank them for their attendance and support.

Next year’s dinner will be back at Cherokee Town Club on October 17, 2013.  We look forward to seeing everyone there for another enjoyable evening.
