Lieutenant Vogt served in law enforcement for more than 30 years, including more than one year with the Chattahoochee Hills Police Department. Previously, he served with the Union City Police Department. Tragically, Lieutenant Vogt was shot and killed in the line of duty in South Fulton County on Monday, February 15, 2010.Officer Vogt had six children and was preceded in death by two; he is survived by his wife, four children, five grandchildren, parents and three brothers.

Known as the backbone and financial provider for his extended family, Lieutenant Vogt had added a second position as a police officer to supplement his income as a fire investigator. Through your membership and donations, the 300 Club of Atlanta was able to offer assistance to the family.
